Community Guidelines
Yaps is for local conversation without exposing real identities publicly. Anonymous does not mean lawless. Last updated: May 11, 2026.
Use Yaps For Local, Good-Faith Conversation
Post about neighborhood observations, local events, transit, food, questions, and everyday public chatter. Keep posts and comments plain-text, relevant, and safe for a general audience of adults.
Do Not Harass, Threaten, Or Bully
Do not target people with insults, humiliation, repeated unwanted attention, threats, intimidation, sexual harassment, hate, or encouragement of self-harm. Do not use usernames, local context, or repeated posts to coordinate harassment.
Do Not Dox, Stalk, Or Misuse Location
Do not share private addresses, phone numbers, workplaces, school schedules, live whereabouts, license plates, private images, or identifying details about another person. Do not try to triangulate, identify, track, or confront someone based on Yaps activity.
Do Not Post Illegal, Exploitative, Or Dangerous Content
Do not post content involving sexual exploitation, minors, non-consensual sexual content, illegal goods, weapons trafficking, fraud, scams, malware, credible threats, instructions for violence, or activity intended to cause real-world harm.
No Impersonation, Spam, Or Platform Manipulation
Do not impersonate another person or organization. Do not create multiple accounts to evade moderation, mass post repetitive content, artificially inflate likes, abuse reporting tools, scrape the service, or automate activity without written permission from Yaps.
Comments Require Yapper's Tier
Users with an active Yapper's Tier subscription can comment on posts. Subscription access does not exempt comments from these Guidelines. Comments may be removed and subscription-based commenting access may be limited if comments violate Yaps policies.
